When the “blind date with a book” trend began, I loved the idea — but it felt narrowly geared toward a young adult audience. As a lifelong reader who once received a wrapped book as a gift, I saw the potential for something more: beautifully wrapped books, paired with thoughtful accessories, that would appeal to readers of all ages.
Brown Bag Best Seller began with what I already had — boxes of gently loved books in excellent condition. From there, I started sourcing locally, intentionally focusing on reselling quality used books. My goal is simple: to give great stories a second life and to reconnect readers with books that may not be new or trending, but are absolutely worth discovering.
Today, BBBS is built on a love of reading, a commitment to sustainability, and the joy of creating something meaningful and giftable.
This business is a family effort. My daughter, Shilo, plays a key role in identifying vendor markets, bringing fresh ideas for merchandising and marketing, and was right beside me as we wrapped our very first books for sale. My husband, James, and son, James make sure our market booths are set up perfectly and inventory is well stocked, and Caroline helps with sales ideas. We give thanks to God for any and all success.
At Brown Bag Best Seller, every book is sustainably sourced, carefully curated, and perfectly packaged — ready to be loved again.
